Of all the cars on the planet, JL, why in the hell would you wish for a 1970 maverick?

gus : don't be so harsh on those guys dreaming of a 1970 maverick - or a 1959 "beetle". of course, we'd scream bloody murder if they'd ask us to drive those cars again - we're just old, doddering dreamers - just give it time and you'll be wanting to join our club. anything "old" appear in your dreams yet ? hbg

I did some searching and found JLNobody's beloved Maverick. I feel bad about being disrespectul about JL's car choice and have decided to clean this baby up a bit -- a nice wax job and vacuum -- and send it to JL.....

gus : i knew you can be a real "softie" if approached the right way.
should have kept my old , rusted out "beetle"; i could probably have traded it for a new caddie now - serves me right for throwing out perfectly good stuff. hbg

'70 Maverick... hah, my exbro in law drove a yuck green one of those, hmmm, tailgated people in it too. My ex and I lived in Venice and he lived in mid town LA, so when we all went to Hemet, dammit, to visit their parents, we'd leave together as we headed to a series of freeways and followed him til he caught I-forget-which-one. I always had a little mental puff of relief that his car hadn't blown up or plowed into the car in front while we were on the same freeway...

One of the few regrets I have in life is the decision I made to sell my Bugati.

That thing would be worth some money today...

When we visited Walter in Lippstadt, they were having a antique car show. This is one of the cars we saw there.

Funny how the antique with 78 on its front looks like one of the comical aliens in the last Star Wars movies.
I used to drive a red beetle. I forget the year, but it had the small rear window. What year did they enlarge the window?

I don't remember...
I had a '67 VW convertible... my first car - I got a late start on cars, used to take the bus a lot.

My first car was a canary yellow, white top convertible, 49 chevy, nosed, shaved and lowered. I was SO proud. I could finally get dates.

My first car was a 1988 Ford Aerostar. Well, technically I guess it was a van.

Nice ride though

THAT is a nice Porsche.

I can't wait until I can buy another German car(BMW/Porsche), the Japanese sedan just isn't cutting it, fun-wise. Then on the other hand, if I want to go 0-60 in under 3.5 seconds I can just hop on the "scooter."

It wasn't very practical though Slappy. No airbags, no
seat belts, no a/c, and only leaded gas. As cute as it was,
I had to give it up for something more economical.
Of course, today, I could bite myself for getting rid of the
car.
