Generic or name-brand printer cartridges?

Hey, experts.

I recently bought a Canon i860 photo printer and it's been oustanding except for the high cost of those ink cartridges. I'm so tempted to try out the "inferior" off-brand ones. Does anyone have any experience or common knowledge about those "compatible" cartridges?

In advance, thanks a lot!

generic are fine....I use them in my office as the more known brands are just too expensive, I have not encountered any problems, what so ever.

I used to think that there was less ink in the generics but lately, the Epson cartridges seem a little light as well so, go figure? Confused
