No you got it mixed up. America, whether rural, suburban, or urban is richer than any part of Africa. It’s africa that children (and adults) don’t have shoes to wear.
Poverty and affluence is relative. Poor people in USA owns vehicles, have electricity and running water, gets to eat out sometimes thanks to EBT. Poor children gets public education. They live in inner city but it’s several steps up from slums. Poor people here even get good medical care thanks to Medicaid and Obamacare.
Rich Africans. Well consider this: only 2 households in the entire africa has reliable electricity and running water. That’s considered plutocrats. Upper class live in small houses without electricity and running water. Most of these people are primitive farmers. Combined, that’s 10% of the population.
The rest of them hunts giant animals and gathers nuts and berries and cook on bonfires.
