What's the deal with the score feature on this site?

Hi. Are people no longer allowed to thumb up or down scores for posts or for threads? If not, why? What happened? Please help. Thank you.

There is a glitch which periodically makes the up down thumbs and topics disappear. It affect different users at different times. The up down facilities are still there, you just can’t see them. If you click where they should be you can still vote up and down.

I don’t know why, either a glitch or you’ve fallen foul of the moderators.
Nobody can vote their own posts or threads up. You’ve only got one vote, and when you make a post that’s it.

It can appear as if you have, but if you refresh the page those votes vanish.

Well that’s how it is for me, but different rules probably apply to you.

At the moment yes, but not when I’m affected by the glitch.

That green square is supposed to be present, with a number in it, by the title of every thread I started. There is no green square next to the titles of the threads I started. It's just white space next to each thread title with a number floating in it.

you are experiencing the glitch -- the thumbs are there but they are invisible.

it should be back to normal by tomorrow morning...
