A double-standard on male sexuality

Sun 7 Feb, 2021 01:24 pm
It's hypocritical for people to call out male sex offenders, but shame male virgins or stay silent when they're ridiculed. When you promote stereotypes like male virgins can't get laid and still live in their mom's basement, you're contributing to sexual violence committed against women. Men are pressured to have sex as a rite of passage so they're gonna have sex by any means.

@Isaiah990,
Sex should be consential is the rule of thumb. It's the same for men and women.

There is a double standard, if a man shags a load of women he’s a legend, but if a woman does it they call her a lesbian.

@Isaiah990,
So you are justifying sex offenders?

This is a ridiculous argument.

@izzythepush,
Right, when men are promiscuous - people call them "studs." When women do the same thing, they're called "sluts." It's hypocritical for men to brag about sleeping with many women then getting in a monogamous relationship and bashing people who do the same in monogamous relationships.

@maxdancona,
You're missing the point. Sexual assault is wrong, but so is shaming people for their sexual choices. Everyone is accountable for his or her behavior, but we're also responsible for creating a safe and healthy environment. Right now, we a very dysfunctional and warped culture that judges people based on their sexuality.

@Isaiah990,
I am not missing the point at all.

Sexual assault is wrong.

Now if you want to make a point on another topic, why don't you start fresh.
