He posted this photo yesterday on Truth Social with the caption, “Biden sitting outside with Lisa Monaco, second in charge of DOJ, probably working on future Plots and Schemes against Republicans.”⁣

This photograph is more than TEN years old. I made this image on May 1, 2013. Joe Biden was then Vice President. Lisa Monaco was then President Obama’s homeland security advisor. ⁣

To give this more context, this photo occurred after the president’s morning intelligence briefing. The VP and Lisa are sitting outside the Outer Oval Office at the edge of the Rose Garden (note that no trees have yet been cut down). President Obama was departing the next day to meet with the President of Mexico. The Boston Marathon bombing had occurred two weeks before.⁣ Donald Trump was then a failed businessman seeking attention by saying President Obama wasn’t a U.S. citizen.

We posted this photo on the White House website the next day as our “photo of the day.” We also posted it on the White House Flickr photo stream on June 20, 2013, as one of the photographs in our monthly albums (for May 2013). Donald Trump apparently thought he killed the Fox News interview that caused more work for his lawyers and earned the former president mockery for potentially admitting to crimes.

Immediately following Trump's interview with Brett Baier of Fox News, he bragged about how well it went, according to Rolling Stone's report. The interview followed Trump's historic indictment and arraignment on charges related to the confidential documents Trump purportedly took and kept without permission.

"In the hours after his interview with Brett Baier aired on Monday, Trump privately boasted about how well he thought he performed," the outlet reported on Tuesday "As he asked others if they had caught the interview and what they thought of it, the former president and 2024 GOP frontrunner said the tension and parrying with Baier made him look tough, creating buzzy, attention-grabbing television, two sources with knowledge of the situation tell Rolling Stone."

As Rolling Stone states, Trump "arguably confessed" to willfully withholding documents after he received a subpoena.

"Where Trump saw buzz, people hoping to keep him out of legal jeopardy saw trouble. Several of the ex-president’s current and former legal advisors watched on with exasperated sighs, and in some cases terror, according to three people familiar with the matter," the report says.

His lawyers are among those most upset by the interview and misstatements.

"One lawyer working in Trump’s orbit messaged Rolling Stone shortly after the interview first aired, predicting the Fox clip would be brought up by prosecutors at trial," the media report says. “'It was a disaster, if you are his lawyer,' says Ty Cobb, a former top Trump White House lawyer during a different special counsel probe. 'And they’ll have more of those, because they won’t be able to keep him quiet…Trump gave the government an enormous gift [in that Fox interview], and they will be able to use what he said to assist them in proving the former president’s intent as to virtually all the charges in the Mar-a-Lago indictment.'"

Why did Trump steal the documents? Was it for currency in case he had to leave the country?

“Prosecutors in the filing used the plural ‘interviews’ to describe recordings of Trump – made with his consent – obtained by the special counsel that have now been turned over to his defense team.
