Trump as a narcissist is able to filter out external realities when they are in conflict with his internal fantasies. In other words, when his internal fantasies collide with the facts, it's the fact's fault, and he may favor his fantasies over the facts.
To what extent he really believes his psychotic fantasies to be true or he's outright lying is the question. It may be a combination of both and the question is can he tell can he distinguish between his lying and his own fantasies. For instance, does he really believe his psychotic fantasy that the election was stolen, or is he outright lying about it. Or is he even able to tell the difference?
Only a deep psychological examination by a professional psychologist or psychiatrist could determine this. Trump really needs to be committed to a mental institution for long-term, intensive therapy for the good of himself and the country.
To allow Trump to be in administrative control to the extent of the presidency is unconscionable. It would be like the inmates running the institution, and it could spell disaster for the country.

We saw what happened in Germany, Russia, Italy, and Hungry and think, "That **** can't happen here because we're smarter, better educated, and more civilized." Well, can it? You know, the Germans were no dumbbells either. So, what happened there?

I don’t like betting against the stupidity of the American electorate and electoral system. Will update assessment on Nov 6 2024 or post Trump’s death, whichever comes first.

Don't ever underestimate the gullibility of a certain segment of the American public. But do remember the only times they win is when we allow them to wear us down. We do out number them. We do need to stay focused, determined and vote every election and every office, from dogcatcher up.
House Democrats released evidence that he took in at least $7.8 million from foreign entities while in office, engaging in the kind of conduct the G.O.P. is grasping to pin on President Biden.
I can never think of Maga adherents as anything but indoctrinated children except for the professional politicians. If we were living in the Dark Ages, I'd say they were possessed. As is, they're just Nazis with a brand new acronym.
