I watched a move circa 2007, and the movie is about a western woman who moves to tokyo to study from her home country. She runs out of money and into the wrong crowd and becomes a 'geisha' or a prostitute to support herself. The movie was based in contemporary tokyo, and I recall it was faily popular around c. 2007. Does anybody know the name of the movie?

I vaguely remember a movie like that, but I also cannot find it. There is this movie, Girls of the White Orchid (1983). Maybe by searching for similar movies, you may find the movie you are looking for.
