changing phpbb topics to html files

Hi all,

I have installed the able2know seo mod for phpbb2 that I got from this website and all is running fine. The one problem I have is that my host providers say they cannot enable mod_rewrite on my server so I can't run craven's mod for changing the php urls to html.

I have been playing around for the last few days and have manually converted a number of my topics into html format and have set-up an archive section on my site.

Before I get too involved I would like to ask everyone's opinion as to wether or not this is actually worth doing for seo and pr improvement, I am prepared to put the man hours in to manually archive all my topics but only if it's worth it in the long run. I figured that I can archive a handful (or more) topics a day and then upload them which will give me fresh content each day.

If it is worth doing then is it also worth changing my robots.txt file to block search engine bots from visiting my entire forum to avoid duplicate entries or is this not really a problem?

Any advice is gratefully recieved before I get RSI for no reason Very Happy
