I have been setting out a trap for rats for months and every so often one gets in and sets off the trap. But the rat escapes the trap. Whether it goes off to die of its injuries or not is important to me. Today I recalled a cartoon in which more than one trap was set in the same place. The victim ended up wearing each and every trap. So I bought more traps. I have always set the original trap as near the wall as possible, the theory being that if the rodent is not interested in the bait it could inadvertently step on the trigger in passing. Now there is a row of traps along the wall in the same position and touching together. When a rat steps on one trigger it will hopefully set off all of them and get hopelessly killed. I invite anybody else interested in cartoon solutions to life to contribute their own thoughts.
@edgarblythe,
I learned that gravity does not like coyotes and never get in a land war in Russia during the winter.
@edgarblythe,
I learned not to press THAT button...!
I learned that when a body is propelled through a wall it leaves a perfect silhouette of its shape, extended limbs and all.
I learned that if you buy anything from ACME you should keep hold of the receipt.
Another one is, I learned to never go wabbit hunting.
@roger,
Sounds like a fun lesson.
@izzythepush,
It was, kind of. We even did a moot court on the case. Our chief of police was in the class. That man could think on his feet.
Any mention of attempted murder on the part of the coyote?
@edgarblythe,
No. I wish I had thought of that.
I learned that if you want to really piss someone off - you just tell them that ---
Your mother wears army boots!
or
Your brother chews bubble gum!
@Linkat,
Pretty strong language, young lady.

I know I know I am a rebel!
And I also learned that you always turn wrong at Albuquerque...
And that guys with crazy mustaches will always "learn me!" after I tell them their mother wears army boots
@Linkat,
And it is ok to be a cross-dresser and to engage in same sex marriages.
Bugs and company made this ok eons ago. We are now just realizing that Bugs was wise way beyond his years.
@Linkat,
now this belongs on the what made me smile thread - because it really really did

Two things:
1) Roadrunners are actual animals found in the Southwest US.
2) Succotash is a real dish with corn and beans, and not some made-up word used by black cats
@Rebelofnj,
succotash is a real dish made of leftover corn and green lima beans...my mother used to make it and I hated it...love the corn, hated the green lima beans (my mother-in-law called them butter beans..)
What I learned from Bugs:
Carrots are Devine, you get a dozen for a dime, It's maaaaaagic.
