White House Denies Existence of Karl Rovehttp://www.theonion.com/images/449/article3295.jpg

Above: This rare photo depicts the man Bush Administration critics are calling "Karl Rove."

The White House has called such reports "nonsense."

McClellan reiterated his denial of Karl Rove's existence 33 times during the press conference. When pressed, he distributed a list of "real, actual political figures about whom I'd be happy to comment." The list included only President George W. Bush and Secretary of Transportation Norman Y. Mineta.

Rumors of the figure's existence were given a boost early this month when, as part of the official investigation into the CIA leak, a Time magazine reporter named Rove as the source of the leak.

"This is a very clever fiction concocted by those on the other side of the aisle," Vice President Dick Cheney said. "It's preposterous at its core."

The phantom advisor has come under heavy fire in recent weeks from critics of the administration, who say he should be fired for his role in the scandal. President Bush has pledged that anyone in his administration found to be involved in the CIA leak will be dismissed.

"There is no such organization as the CIA," McClellan said. "This is tinfoil-hat stuff."

Initially demanding that the alleged Rove be fired, Democrats say they are now focusing their efforts on proving the figure's existence.

"I believe this deputy White House chief of staff is real, despite White House claims to the contrary," Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) said. "But to disprove this wild ghost story, we must begin an exhaustive fact-finding mission, for which I pledge all the time and resources of the entire Democratic party."

sozobe, It would really be funny if it didn't reflect the truth of this administration. "Anybody in my administration who reveals the name of an undercover CIA agent will be fired." "Anybody in my administration that is convicted of revealing the name of an undercover CIA agent will be fired." "Anybody in my administration that doesn't work for me will be fired."

No refutation of my logic? You just ignore it? Somehow I am not suprised that you refuse to discuss it. It is a logical conclusion that any reasonable person can come to based on known facts. Because you can't or won't refute it only shows that it stands on its own and has no refutation.

I ignored it because: (A) your "logic" doesn't exist; as demonstrated you don't possess a logical mind, (B) it was not the focus of our current discussion, and (C) I've already refuted it previously. I don't feel the need to repeatedly shred your "logic" just because you feel the need to repeat it.

I didn't equate undercover with covert.

Wrong. You did so .... HERE.[/URL] In your argument that the CIA must have found Plame to have been "undercover" and "covert," you said, "Both words apply equally and are synonymous." Just another indication of your faulty logic.

parados wrote:
The CIA did in their sending a possible crime to DoJ. They used the word "undercover" to describe the possible crime in the letter sent to Conyers.

And you have concluded that means Plame is "covert." You believe "undercover" means "covert." I've blown huge gaping holes in that theory, and you continue to insist it's holding water. Laughing

See above.

You have blown nothing through my theory. YOu have blown a lot of hot air but none of your posturing points to any possible crime without Plame being covert. The CIA referred to the DoJ for a crime concerning the outing of an undercover agent that in order to meet the legal standard she was covert. Until you can cite one law that specifically makes it criminal to out an undercover agent that is not covert you can't refute my logic.

Well, in any case, Michael Moore is a filmmaker. Cheney, Rove and Norquist run the country.

Which is the point I was making in the first place...

Are you sticking with your "undercover" equals "covert" logic?

I guess I don't understand your point. Shall we list fat, white legislators? What about fat, white guys from Clinton's administration? What about Big Bill "Big Mac" Clinton himself?

Is this liberal backlash from the fact that Bush is in such great shape? LINK.

How dare Bush get into such great shape!

Bush's ability to stay in shape is truly admirable. I've always appreciated his persistence in not making his job overwhelm the other important things in his life: exercise, adequate sleep, frequent vacations.

He's a role model for the workaholics of this country...

No president is ever on vacation. It is a clear sign of desperation for the left when they resort to cheap shots because Bush is so healthy. Laughing

No president is ever on vacation?

Perhaps not. But no two presidents work equally hard. Just to stay within the realm of Republican presidents, I have hunch that Nixon put in longer hours than Bush...

Bush just exudes Gentleman's C.

Are you sticking with your "Parados isn't logical but I don't have to show why" argument?

CIA stated for the purpose of a crime Plame met the standard. Their use of "undercover" equals "covert." Blow all the hot air you want Tico, it doesn't change the facts. You have been unable to show how the CIA could claim a crime without Plame being covert. Parsing my paragraphs to eliminate my pointing to the CIA use of undercover for covert doesn't change facts Tico. Instead it shows a rather shallow argument on your part.
