I loaded Syberia II last night and played for a few hours. Tonight, I tried to get back into the game, but was denied. I was prompted to insert the CD ROM into a disk drive (repeatedly). I tried rebooting the system, but it still doesn't seem to see the disc.
Any ideas about how I can make it right?
music cds won't play on the drive anymore either - can a disc drive just up and quit working over night? Can I find it and make the computer see it again? Do I need to get inside the CPU and sheck connections?
It sounds like your CD player has a bit of Winnie-the-Pooh-itis. It may just be stuffed with fluff.
Do you have a can of compressed air or a CD cleaning kit aorund to give it a whirl??
ooooh, I have a dvd cleaning disc - same thing?
It might work. Give it a shot. What's to lose?
I am right now. Thanks for the tip. One thing, how will it work if the disc drive doesn't go?
by the way, nice truck.
Isn't there a find hardware wizard somwhere in my computer?

The drive won't spin at all??? That's not good. You may have just worn the poor little thing out. I've got a spare sitting on the shelf if you wantto try swapping it out.

In the Control Panel. Choose "Hardware" and then "Add Hardware..."
Heehee.... truck needs a little work, though, eh?
I think I have another around here. The little light comes on when I put a disc in, but that's all.
