On switching on his computer my son is faced with a blue screen containing the following message;
STOP COO21A
FATAL SYSTEM ERROR, THE WINDOWS LOG ON PROCESS SYSTEM PROCESS TERMINATED UNEXPECTEDLY WITH A STATUS OF, OX00000080
THE SYSTEM HAS BEEN SHUTDOWN.
Can anyone help? is there anything he can do? or has he got to take his PC into the shop? any advice will be appreciated.
Thanks
challie
Before going into panic mode, I'd try a fresh reboot. Pull the machine's power cord for a few minutes, plug it back in, and reboot.
If that doesn't help, another thought occurs; that error can - in fact often does - result from a Windows update being applied to an invalid copy of Windows - which, if that's the case in your situation, prolly is fairly bad news; a re-install of a legitimate Windows is about the only way to fix the problem and prevent its recurrence.
Thanks Timbo I'll pass it on
