I have a new computer with WINXP, SP2. I installed AOL 9 Optimized.
On my old system ME I was able to play games using AOL's Pogo Games.
Now none of the free games will load for me. I have Java loaded and it works fine. I have Microsoft's Virtual Machine and it installed just fine.
But still no luck. There are two firewalls on my PC. Nortons and XP.
Both are on. I called AOL and all the settings the tech walked me through were exactly the way they should be set. If any one knows what may be the problem of why I cannot load the games I would certainly appreciate it. Oh one more thing, when I wait while the game is trying to load an error message will pop up saying to either download the Java or something is wrong with the Java I have on my machine. And when I go to Java.com to test my PC all the animation works just fine. I am really at my wits ends with this problem. Thank you for taking the time to read about my issue.

First thing I'd try would be to shut off both firewalls, then see what happens when you try to access the games. If that works, try just one of the firewalls, then disable it and try the other one. While there's nothing wrong with multiple firewalls - I myself am behind both software and hardware firewalls, getting two or more to cooperate with one another can be hair-tearing tricky. It might be that you have to specifically open particular ports, or grant special firewall permissions, to the game site to get things to work.

Since I don't use AOL, or play online games, or use either Norton's or Windows firewalls, I'm sorta shooting in the dark here, but give that a shot and lemme know what happens. Don't hang out with no firewall on for very long, and be sure to re-enable at least one of your firewalls before you go off elsewhere on the web.

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to my plea. I tried as you mentioned to turn off my firewall and still nothing. I am now convinced it is not my computer or the firewall. I am sure there is a
problem with AOL and SP2. Hopefully, somewhere down the road AOL will get it together.
