... there now, was that more helpful?
Jeeze, he was just trying to help jenksace99...
You weren't very specific on your needs. What did you expect?
I converted your weight into pounds so I could think it through clearly. 16 stone at 14lbs per stone is 224 lbs. At 5'7" tall you would fall into the normal weight range (by BMI) at 158lbs (11.3 stone) which is about 70% of your current body weight.
Trying to lose 30% of your body weight isn't going to happen quickly. In fact, I would suggest trying to lose 10% of your current weight over the next few months, stabilizing at that weight for up to 3 months and then going for another 10% until you get down to where you want to be.
It begins with a single step. Making the decision to change the way you eat. You can start by keeping a food diary for a few days. Don't make any changes yet, eat the way you usually do, but write down everything you eat - including the quantities. Once you've kept a food diary for a few days you will be able to see simple things that you can change. Simple changes will have a dramatic impact in the beginning. Eventually the rate of loss will slow, but you should be able to spot some easy changes to get you started. If you'd like you can post a sample day here and we'll give you some ideas (be nice, Tico).
thank you
thank you J_B thanks really thoughtful of u, im not good with words so im going to leave it at that but still thanks for the advice and your friendliness! Its people like you that help me on in this horrible mean world, many thanks!!
hey J_B
just to let you know this is what i had 2day!
Breakfast: nothing no time because I have to do paper round then get the bus I can't get much earlier as i get up so early and if do I fall asleep, going to bed earlier as an option tried that for a month and a half could not get to sleep until late.
Lunch; two ham rolls and a small piece of chocolate. P.s drank water and that it all I drink is water and a orange.
Supper: A piece of salmon and a jacket potato and after that an apple.
That is what I had to eat to day and that is what I eat most days as well
Thanks for your time and help.
Is 16 stone the weight you've been carrying for awhile, or have you already been trying to lose with this meal plan?
First, take it from someone who never ate breakfast because a) I wasn't hungry in the morning and b) if I ate breakfast, I got hungry again sooner so I thought I ate more on those days, you need to eat something in the morning! From first glance it looks like your metabolism is very low. If you're eating less than 1000 cals/day you'll need to pick it up to get your system working again.
Start reading labels. Try not to eat anything that doesn't contain a good balance of carbs to protein. Each meal should be at most a 10:1 ratio, 6:1 is better. Eat at least 4 to 5 times a day. Try to have about 400 - 500 cals each time. That will add up to 1600 - 2000 cals which is about right for someone at your current weight to lose 2 -3 lbs/week.
The cals can't come from sugary foods or highly processed foods. They need to come from quality food sources, such as the ones you've listed.
Describe a ham roll to me. What does it have on it besides ham and bread?
hey there
First thanks for he quick reply!
Iv been this weight for about 2 years now and have eaten on that kind of diet for two years as well as.
In the ham roll I have butter thin amount on one side with a little cheese not much as I know there is a lot of fat in it, on the other and lettuce and cucumber.
Thanks
p.s sorry if the spelling or grammar is not that good as I am dyslexic (if that I how you spell dyslexic?)
I think the thread Ticomaya linked you to is excellent. Why did you not find it informative Jen'99? Did you read the whole thing or just look at the first line or two?
If all you are eating is what you described- your body is in starvation mode. You should see a doctor and have your thyroid tested. You should also have your fasting blood sugar measured.
I don't see how you could hold on to so much weight and eat so little unless there is a problem with your metabolism. Even if you sit on your bottom all day you would burn enough calories to keep below the weight you mention.
hi
when i clicked it nothing came up so i thought it was a joke or something soz!
