cleaning my CD-ROM laser lens, but...

I'm trying to clean my laser lens on my laptop's drive using a cleaning disc, but when I try running it, it's apparently not a Windows-supported format. I just used this disc in my radio and a PS2 and my roommate just used it on his computer and we both use xp. Could anyone please tell me what I need to do to solve this problem? Thanks in advance!

If it's a laptop, then your cd / dvd drive should be small form-factor, and the laser lens should be clearly visible if you extend the tray all the way out.

Simply take a clean 'eyeglass' rag and gently wipe the lens. Do not use any chemicals...

Actually touching the laser lens may not be a good idea. I'd recommend you try a different CD/DVD Cleaning disc first, a newer one, one specifically for computers, before trying a manual cleaning. If you do go for the manual cleaning route, be very careful, very gentle, and use only a clean, lint-free wipe, with no moisteners or other chemicals.
