I run Norton AntiVirus every week and every week it picks up that I have a NHelper.dll which contains NHelper, NHUninstaller and NHUpdater which it calls a SecurityRisk.NavHelper. I let Norton delete these files but the deletion fails. I have searched and found the files but there is no option to delete them just copy and I cant delete them. I have run Spybot and Adware but they do not find them. I have tried to remove NavHelper in Add and Remove programes but it will not let me.
Are these files really harmful? Any suggestions please on how to get rid of them. Thanks

NHelper.dll
1. Disable System Restore
2. Restart your computer in Safe Mode
3. Now go add/ remove programs & delet the program you want
4. Some files require a manual delete. If you have already located or know the folder where these files are located, then go tho this folder & manually delete them.
5.delete all temp files / cookies / internet temp files / recycling bin /
6. Empty the Recyle Bin.

If you can then do this too.
Please run these two online scans.
Make sure they are set to clean automatically:

Yup, that's a nasty, and no doubt it has some freinds to keep it company on your machine. They protect one another, too, so they're tricky to get rid of.

Have a look at This Topic ; while technically still a "Beta", the procedure has been tested extensively, its worked for lots of folks, and no reports of problems stemming from its proper use have been noted.
