@thack45,
the thunder and lightning made quite an impression here at the office - the sky was dark dark dark - the building shook shook shook

little dogs are not going to like the rumbling

@ehBeth,

It is just pissing rain out there. We've had rumbly grumbly storms moving swiftly overhead for about four hours now, since about 3:00 a.m. Nothing spectacular, but a persistent, drumming rain and constant thunder.

@Setanta,
We had a glorious storm down here yesterday. Lots of wind and rain and lovely thunder and lightning. Loved it. Doggies didn't. I had a 55 lb lab and a 70 lb. Australian Shepherd trying to get into my lap for a couple of hours. Silly puppies.

@ehBeth,
storms rolled through this AM into lunchtime. Nice soaker of about 1.5 in in a few hours. No severe storms, just a nice summer rain. Good for the soybeans and pastures.
I hate those 3 in rainfalls that dump all over in a half hour or so. They just make mud flows

You must have been tired! How was your vacay day? Smile

We had another nice rumbly storm last evening. It was so comforting. I am not sure why those summer Thunder Storms calm me so. But they do.

Last Friday a storm rolled up from Long Island through Connecticut, first nearly drowning us at the train station in New Haven. It took my girlfriend an hour to circle the streets trying to find a way through the flooded streets (water up over the hood of the car) to get near the place.
Then we chased the storm North, watching as little funnels and twists formed on the back end of it.
Nearly two and 1/3 inches in the rain gauge, a big ravine dug through the flower garden by the run-off.

@Region Philbis,
I heard you all were in for it today Region. Sounds like Conneticut got pounded too. Lots of delays and traffic issues. Hope it remains snarl free for you!

@Region Philbis,
We're getting a nice little thunder shower. Good, I won't have to water anything this weekend.

@jcboy,
And again today, it's been booming for over an hour now. Just had one directly over the house, even our little deaf dog jumped up and ran to his crate. Vibrated the house!

@jcboy,
Yeah, I can definitely tell when there's a thunderclap really nearby.

Sounds like everyone's fine?

(We've had lightning strikes in our yard a few times yet -- usually knocks out the electricity.)

Nothing dramatic here, just a steady, drizzling rain.
