@Setanta,
Judging from the regalness as demonstrated in the avatar...looks like you're speaking the truth.

We're having a thunderstorm right now! We don't get them very often. The way sound travels in a valley surprises me every time.

It has been a rip-snorter! The only thing which gave me pause was when i saw that old Jewish guy from down the street building this big ass boat in his back yard . . .

We're embracing tropical storm "Fabio" (no not THE Fabio) tonight -
should get some unusual thunder too and hopefully some rain with it.

@Joe Nation,
I think that's the storm Set watched passing by south over the lake last night. It was a pretty good light show.

At the same time, there were tornado watches a couple of hours east of here, close to where hamburgboy lives.

Big storm!

The Columbus forcefield is pissing me off.

We had this huge crew of big storms coming at us -- really looked like it was merely a matter of when, not if. But somehow the forcefield held strong and we've had nary a drop. And we need it, badly.

I took this screen shot a few hours ago, after several had already inexplicably passed us by. All of those blobs were moving east, with a slightly southerly tilt. Really should have gotten us... but no. NOTHING. (Some went north, some went south, some went poof.)

Just hd a hug line squall come through with 70mph wins.We are effectively sealed off because our road has several downed trees of the large variety. My neighbor with the big sycamores has lost one that was blown right across the rpoad.Its a state mail route so the McCoy folks will be cutting it up. Got 2.75 " of rain in less than an hour so it was a dense blinding rain. Now its cooled off about 20 defrees but its still humid outside so theres promise that the heat will again build up

Certainly an apt description. Mrs45 and I have noted this phenomenon many, many times.

What a difference an hour makes. I made my lunch, and then went upstairs to read. I come down less than an hour later. Before, it was a sunny, hot, listless day; then it was dark, windy and wild. I can just hear the thunber beginning. I have great hopes.
