Let me state unequivocably that I think people through the years, both the powerful and important (like world leaders) and the small and insignificant (like you and me) have perverted both books to their advantage and turned both the bible and the koran into bullshit bound in leather.

You don't have to pervert I-slam or the koran; the book and religion start out perverted.

There is no law of physics to prevent a Christian from being an a$$hole. Nonetheless in order to be an a$$hole, a Christian has to be in substantial violation of the basic tenets of his religion. A slammite has to be in substantial violation of the basic tenets of HIS religion in order to be a decent person. That's the difference.

First off, tell me how that's supposed to be any sort of an analogy to a 1400-year campaign of terror and subjugation and oppression (the history of I-slam) which ends up with one religion controlling all of the territory from the wall of China to the west coast of Africa and tens of degrees of lattitude up and down; a campaign of conquest so thorough in fact that having even a minescule sliver of that territory retaken by its original owners for the state of Israel, a sliver which was basically uninhabited prior to the zionist movement in fact, provokes an unremitting and relentless torrent of crybaby routines and terrorism over a 60-year period.

Gunga, there is plenty of places in the Old Testament where God told Israel to go and kill everyone including all the animals of an enemy. This is not a religious section but I have a Bible on my computer desktop and can show you where if need be.

Church Sign Sparks Debate

FOREST CITY -- A sign in front of a Baptist church on one of the most traveled highways in the county stirred controversy over religious tolerance and first-amendment rights this weekend.

A sign in front of Danieltown Baptist Church, located at 2361 U.S. 221 south reads "The Koran needs to be flushed," and the Rev. Creighton Lovelace, pastor of the church, is not apologizing for the display.

"I believe that it is a statement supporting the word of God and that it (the Bible) is above all and that any other religious book that does not teach Christ as savior and lord as the 66 books of the Bible teaches it, is wrong," said Lovelace. "I knew that whenever we decided to put that sign up that there would be people who wouldn't agree with it, and there would be some that would, and so we just have to stand up for what's right."

Seema Riley, a Muslim, who was born in Pakistan and reared in New York, was one of those upset by the sign.

She moved to Rutherford County for the "small town friendly" atmosphere, she said. When she saw the sign on the side of the highway Saturday she felt angered and threatened.
