Ouch! I stubbed my toe in the dark.

Is this in the Rhineland-Palatinate?

Where's the midnight sun, Walter. Is the place in the German Alps?

It's not Rhineland-Palitine (more south) and not in the Alps (though they can be seen from there).

Indeed, it is in Baden-Württemberg. (In the southern part of 'Baden' to give a hint.)

Walter, I know that it is late for you, but is the castle in Konstanz? I have had no luck with images, but I did find this:

Old Castle "Hohenbaden", built in 1102, a ruin since the 15th century

That's not far away from the place you should find, but it isn't the one I posted. And the lake is fine as well.

But remember: the last search was connected twice: we are now in the former French zone (Francis created that thread) and looking for a .....

Sorry, Walter. I simply cannot make the connection between Francis' place and your castle. Is it on this map?

Certainly it's on this map, as said already:
- Baden-Württemberg state (and here the southern part of "Baden-"),
- close to Konstanz (what you found yourself)
- in sightview of the Alps.

It's not connected to Francis location (sorry, if I said so wrongly), but to Francis last thread.
One connection (out of two) are already found: southern Baden was part of the French Zone (and Francis lives in France).

The other is still to be found (and was actually the best hint in my opinion).

Walter, you and I are not connecting properly. Of course I know that Francis is from France, honey, and I understand that part, but I don't remember his last thread. The reason that I posted the map is to see if Freiburg might be the place that I am looking for. As I told you, my images show me everything but your castle. I even tried Hohenzollern castle.

So are these ruins atop an extinct volcano?

Letty: "Hohen..." isn't bad - but it's not 'Hohenzollern'.

I see the volcano connection now, Walter. Is the castle in Freiburg?

No, not Freiburg - closer to Konstanz (that's the place you found yesterday).
