Read the web page after I found the picture somewhere else, just to make sure I knew what I was talking about. Letty sometimes asks awkward questions.

Where are we now?
Ferry boat in New York Harbour?
yes and sort of no
you'll need to be a tiny bit more specific (your answer was a bit like saying it's a ferry mmmmmmm in Western Australia harbour)
I can appreciate your comments but I have to make a start soemwhere
Ferry from Long Island?
north and west of there
(in other words, the state is correct  )
Pure guess -------- anything to do with the Liberty Water Taxi
Hello handsome!
Nothing to do with a Liberty Water Taxi.
Sorry, but I'm in unchartered waters here, but will have one more gues before I go off line. Staten Island ferry?
the only NY ferry i've taken is the one that goes anti-clockwise round the manhattan island but i don't remember any lighthouse
Not the Staten Island Ferry (much much too small to be the SIF).
Dutchy, you had the state (New York) but not the city. You need to go north and west within the state.
a ten-minute drive will bring you here
then another 20+ minutes here
and you'll arrive here
Where did we start?
Rochester, ehBeth? Everyone else is asleep.
East of Rochester.
(and dang it all, the lovely Toronto-Rochester ferry was cancelled before I could even ride on it)
it is ...
no , that would be unfair , since i know exactly where it is .
ehbeth took a ride on that ferry when she was still a "wee one" (must have a picture somewhere).
hbg
Cape Vincent it is.
On you go, Francis.
While we wait for the "man who wasn't there", I would like to post this link so that all may see where I got the WRONG information. I have already explained to Dutchy.

Conrad Aiken has the most fascinating background, and his association with T.S.Eliot was quite a surprise.
