Uluru is about 1400km from where I live and I have visited and climbed it twice. Very steep and you have to pull yourself up along a chain fence to get to the top. To the local aboriginal people it is a sacred site on what they call their "dreamland territory" and is shrouded in mystic, really beyond a white man's comprehension.

Wrong Smile . Melbourne is the 3rd largest Greek city in the world.

1. Athens: 4,5 million
2. Thessaloniki: 1 million
3. Melbourne: About 700,000 Greeks

Since there is something else going on in this thread and I don't want to interrupt it, I am going to give you this site, which contains virtual tours: http://www.hellas.net/.

It doesn't contain really much, as it focus on Athens, but take it for a first step.

Not Middle East.

Yes, it is a memorial. That reminds of a man who plundered people and killed them on his way. Plunder and kill was his famous policy, Miss Letty.
