George, is the place above Indonesia? That would help in our search.
It's on the mainland of Asia, northwest of Indonesia.
Well, how about Thailand? Often, I get the directions a little confused. When you say Northwest, does that mean the section of the map that is on my left? I hate to go to an Atlas to get my bearings.

Yes, to the left. And to the left of Thailand, for that matter.
So it's in the Far West of the Far East. (Hunh?)
Funny, George. Well, how about India?
Yes, this residence (former residence, to be precise) is in India.
Gandhi's residence? I thought he lived sparsely, so it can't be Gandhi's.
How about Nehru or Tagore. Right, C.I. the house is too posh.
What a big surprise. Imagine that.
Holy mack! I've watched the movie "Gandhi" too much. LOL
When I toured India some years ago, I remember seeing a statue of Gandhi, and I asked our bus driver to stop so I could take a picture. The whole bus unloaded to take pictures.
Not Ahmedabad Adalaj.
I should point out that this building was not owned by Gandhi but by a
friend who was his host in this city (a city in the news of late).
Is this the news that you mean, George?
Over 150 killed in Mumbai blasts
NDTV Correspondent
Tuesday, July 11, 2006: (Mumbai)
Over 150 people have been killed in the series of blasts that rocked Mumbai today.
Seven blasts took place on different railway stations in the city.
The first blast was reported at Bhayandar station near Mira Road at 6:09 pm (IST) in a local train, which left several people injured.
And so it is.
"Located on leafy Laburnum Road, a quiet lane named after its shady
trees, Mani Bhavan is the old Mumbai residence of Mahatma Gandhi. It's a
pretty, two-storied structure that now houses a reference library with
over 2000 books, a photo exhibition of the Mahatma's life, and well
preserved memorabilia, including an old charkha or spinning wheel that
Gandhiji used to use."
Over to you, CI.
Another "famous" person's house.
