Well, I'll be. I was spelling it wrong. My old dodge Monaco has a Renault engine and the parts come from Paris, France. Fantastic engine, and I swear it still runs like a champ.

Ok, C.I. Is that place in Paris, France. May be the reason Francis said, "Oh, yeah." <smile>

Not Paris or France, but I have a hunch Francis knows where it is.

C.I., dear. You three guys know where everything is. I got lucky guessing California.

Well, give us a hint, duckie. <smile> What part of Europe? North, East, South, West?

Eastern Europe, but not Russia. The building is a big hint; the architecture has significance.

Hello! U.S. and Greece calling California. The site will undergo maintenance this weekend. We may never know in front of what building that Renault is parked.

Bucharest is correct. The significance of the building are many, but the two prominant ones would be 1) that the style is Stalinist is style, and 2) it's one of the largest buildings in the world (top three - depending on who's measuring).

Well, C.I. I have used every available means to locate government buildings in Bucharest and couldn't find one that resembled your picture.

Dial up makes the search very slow. Is it this?

"... You also cannot leave Bucharest without experiencing the splendour of Palatul Cotroceni (Cotroceni Palace) - the erstwhile royal residence, set in the backdrop of the Dimbovita River near the Botanical gardens..."

It's the white building on the upper right of your picture. I remember turning around to see that large boulevard, and took a picture of that too! Wink
