No, C.I. Once long ago, I made a blunder about this place, and everyone kidded me about it. satt really gave me the idea on the connect the picture thread.

This seems so timely, that I have to show it to you all.

Poll Shows Many Can't Find La. on Map By RANDOLPH E. SCHMID, Associated Press Writer
Tue May 2, 10:06 AM ET

WASHINGTON - Despite the wall-to-wall coverage of the damage from Hurricane Katrina, nearly one-third of young Americans recently polled couldn't locate Louisiana on a map and nearly half were unable to identify Mississippi.

Americans between the ages of 18 and 24 fared even worse with foreign locations: six in 10 couldn't find Iraq, according to a Roper poll conducted for National Geographic Laughing

Not surprising; most hadn't heard of Iraq before the war. Betcha over 50 percent of Americans still can't identify it on a world map.

That percentage probably shoots up to over 90 percent if asked to name the surrounding countries of Iraq.

Well, frankly, C.I. I think it may have to do with the limited number of Americans that can travel.

Hint: The statue is of a famous musician.

BTW, I didn't see that statue in Warsaw, but we went to a piano concert on Chopin's music. I vaguely remembered his profile, and that's where I got my answer. Wink

That's something that I would love to hear, C.I. It's been a long while since I have been to a concert. The last was the LSO in Daytona.

Go, Yit.

My wife and I used to attend the SF Symphony for over 13 years with Friday subscriptions, but the drive got to be too hectic driving into SF. Heard some amazing artists and conductors in those years, and miss them to tears, but alas, I will not drive into SF during commute hours again.

Just peeking in ~ but your conversation on poor geography skills made me giggle. (Not that I believe american kids are worse than anywhere else.) There's a long standing joke that if Canada was ever in danger of an American invasion, all we have to do is steal all your maps. Then you'd never find us.

Ooops. It's hockey playoff time and I was catching a game. So in honour of the sport, here's an easy one. Where am I?

(extra credit for naming the building as well as the city).
