I'm not aware of the Sforza family's relation to this 'fortress/castle.'

No. I'm waiting for Tico to post a pix.

When I took the pixture, I probably knew a little info about the castle, so I've just named it "Milano Castle." Wink

Oh oh, I'm sorry. When you said it didn't pertain to the Sforzas, I thought I had it wrong.

Some day I hope to get to Milan. Here's another picture of it:

Give me a bit to dig up a picture.

Milan has much to offer the visitor. Don't miss the Duomo, the shopping mall next to it, and the opera house with the museum. I even waited three hours in the hot sun to see Leonardo's Last Supper.

This train still runs daily, carrying both passengers and cargo. Where is either the start point or the end point of it's journey?

I'll be back in the morning.

I suppose, it's a photo of the engine running a train of the Hull-Chelsea-Wakefield Steam Train, on its way from Gatineau to Wakefield.

Walter! You are correct, of course. And I will someday take the time to learn how to use Photobucket or some such. But I thought I had selected a photo that had no info on it, so how do you do it? When I select properties on this photo, all I see is ericscouten.com/images/preview/es-060802.jpg. Where do you get this more detailed data?

Anyway, Wakefield is a picturesqe little town in the Gatineau Hills across the river from Ottawa. These days, the train's passengers are mostly tourists. My father-in-law and his family have long roots in this town. When my fil was a young man, he and his 2 brothers worked in Ottawa and used this train as a commuter. On the way home in the evenings, as the train slowed to a crawl entering town, they would jump off when they got closest to home. The problem was that at exactly the same point, on the other side of the tracks was the town tavern. So it was quite usual that the boys would jump to the left, instead of the right, and have a few pints in the pub. Unfortunately, their father was the town bailiff -- he'd soon be around to drag them home.

Here's another photo I found of the little lake that the town and railroad curls around:

The town also has a bakery that makes the world's best butter tarts.

Go, Walter.
