Okay .... why so? "Middle East" is referred to as "Middle East," just as "Central America" is referred to as "Central America." Neither are Continents. Seems an apt analogy IMO.

My point is this: The Central America region is not a continent simply because it's referred to as Central America ... just as the Middle East region is not a continent just because it's referred to as "Middle East."

Because you are trying to be more specific? Although I'd submit "Midwest US" might be a better choice. (Or perhaps "Heartland"? :wink: )
