There is that line "completed in 18--" at the bottom of the image. Is this tunnel still in use?

It's not a tunnel.

You can still visit this place. It is no longer used for its original purpose.

World's largest hand dug well, completed in 1888. They stopped using it for municipal water in the 30s. Now they just use it to try and draw tourists.

I went down it while I was in elementary school.
