I'm back. The hostess asked us to arrive at 4:30, so we left the house at 4:15. The guests were a Russian family we met two years ago at their home, another woman that belongs in our circle of friends and worked as a stewardess for United, and another couple we met for the very first time. The husband was a principal who retired a couple of years ago, and I'm not sure what his wife does. The Russian family includes a younger couple with their two sons with their grandparents, so our hostess had 11 guests. As usual, she prepared to much food; two different kinds of salad, a fruit bowl, smoked salmon, pot roast, brocoli, a potato dish, dinner rolls, vodka, and wine, with cake and coffee for dessert.
