@Francis,
Your moniker is exactly how my mother used to call me, Francis, but as for diminutives to Francisco, I prefer Pancho.

South America?

Gallipoli McTag. I recognised the monument as it is Australia's greatest battlefield where thousands of Australians flock to on Anzac Day each year, our National Holiday in commemoration of the thousands of Australians and New Zealanders who lost their life there during WWI.

@Dutchy,

You got it. It is Lone Pine Cemetery.

Apparently the pine which stands there now was grown from a seed of the original "lone pine" from which the battle takes its name.

@McTag,

I never got the chance to use my back-up clues, you were so quick.
We had an interesting day there.
This is a statue commemorating the visit of an old Turkish survivor of the battle, who came with his granddaughter.

@McTag,
The annual commemoration service from Gallipoli is beamed live to Australia McTag and watched by the whole nation. Having watched it countless times I know the area fairly well. There is a well known beach near where my son lives which is called Gallipoli Beach, the terrain is similar to that in Turkey, they even made a movie there called Gallipoli starring Mel Gibson.

@Dutchy,
I've been away a couple of days ...

... in one of the zustersteden of that city.

Your photo shows a 19 floor tower (containing 98 residential units), I think; called 'Urban Cactus', situated in the Vuurplaat section of Rotterdam harbour, designed by UCX Architects/Ben Huygen and Jasper Jaegers and done for Vestia Rotterdam Feijenoord/Estrade Projecten.
