Jerde is a parternship of designers and the principal designer on that project is John Simones, although you realize it's a collaborative design and the central structure looks suspiciously like painted up Gehry. This is from Jerde Patnership's own Website. I looked in but was too late with Dutchy, the detective extraodinaire, already in progress on the research.

I saw an island that was born... formed, named Surtsey but it doesn't look like this, and it's missing the wee babe at its side.
