I'm not sure how harems and tombs relate, but those tombs on the fortress wall were put their for a purpose. Both are verboten to some.

I don't know about the tombs but Saiyd Allauddin had his harem in that fortress..

Has it somehing to do with the Zoroastrians?

I don't think it goes that far into the past, but we were told that the tombs on the walls were placed there for defensive purposes, because it was against their "religion" to set foot on tombs. There is no way for me to confirm that info, as I've looked high and low and found nothing relating to them.

It's not Inca or in Spain. However, Walter is pretty close, but it's not in Gozo.
