@Dutchy,
Is that the place that is a bookstore now? (I don't even remember what country it is in, with some thought it was Netherlands.)

@ossobuco,
If that's the one I think it is: it's no bookshop (that would be e.g. the Domincan church in Maastricht [been there, too]) but a museum ... and a 'Grote Kerk'.

But I could be wrong, if it's not that town where NAC is a Eredivisie team.

@ossobuco,
But I was wrong -confirmed when looking through my photos- with the place I'd initially thought it was Embarrassed

@Walter Hinteler,
ossobuco you have a good memory, that 'bookstore church' did appear on this thread!
ok Walter, you know the name of the city, but this particular tower, lost it's church through fire is know to me as the "Onze Lieve Vrouwe Toren" or in the local idiom "De Lange Jan". You have the honour of posting the next picture.

@Dutchy,
I think I was either the one that posted it, Dutchy, or had just read an article on it.

@Dutchy,
I think, when Mrs Walter, Mrs Steve, Steve and I walked along there last year, we already had seen some older "houses" nearby.

@Dutchy,
Well, it's a state capital, close to my country's capital.

@Francis,
You're on the ball Francis. SanSouci Palace, Berlin sounds ok to me.

@Walter Hinteler,

Nitpicking a bit: actually it's the "New Palace" (Neues Palais) not at all Sans Souci Palace but both are situated in the same "Sans Souci-" Park. Wink

@Walter Hinteler,
Quick note on the life & times of dev-: Holland, Michigan is about 45 minute's drive from where I am right now, and I know that place well. I went to Hope College there and have been known to study in that vicinity! Thanks for the memory, Walter! Very Happy
