@Francis,
Well, our visit to Tajikistan was for only a few hours, and it cost us $80 for the VISA. We visited one archaeological site and a bazaar; I thought it was a waste of one day and $$$ for not much.

@Francis,
That's for dang sure! I usually have a pretty good graphic memory. I can still "picture" in my mind's eye the archaeological site, the museum, and the bazaar we visited. Even some of the road we traveled to and from. Somebody else will have to guess the location of those twin towers. I'm getting ready for my trip for tomorrow.

Well, Walter obviously found the place, it's the Hissor fortress, less then 20 miles from Dushanbe, Tadjikistan..

Your turn, Walter...

@Walter Hinteler,
Seeing a couple of flags, could it be an embassy building?

@Dutchy,
No embassy (and actually not in a town/city, where embassies usually are situated).

@Walter Hinteler,
The architecture of the building should give some clue, I think ...

@Walter Hinteler,
Walter I have spent hours looking at every building around France's country side today! Smile Is it someone famous who lives there?

@Dutchy,
Not in the building, no, just offices for a for a regional "transport agency" [called a bit different] and for "cultural affairs".

The building changed its name over the years of existence (though you'll still find it with the original one) ...

From an old (around 1900) postcard

Correction: it's not just a regional "agency" but the oldest "multi countries agency" of the world.
