Going on Walter's hint (I thought it was a hint) I asked Clary if her place was in Heidelberg, Germany, and got no response, so I did the picture of Oscar Wilde's statue in Dublin, Ireland. I will ask, then, if Clary's place is in England. This may be easy for the Europeans, but it isn't always easy for Americans.

Francis named the university already and I think, the place shows the city/town with the oldest German university (that is 'German' in those days).
So I got Oscar Wilde OK!
Walter, it's no use footling about with hints and smirks, nobody knows what you are talking about, so either give the place name or, other people, guess again. It isn't Heidelberg or Germany or Britain.

Well, I noticed that one of the oldest universities is in Vienna, Austria, and you said that you just wanted the city. Is that the location of your place?
No. I didn't even know the picture was of a university, as far as I could see it was just a cityscape!
I realize that, Clary, but I got a bit side tracked with the university thing, and I don't understand Francis' hint.

Clary, I am using dial up, and I have to go off line from time to time. I am going to try Uppsala, Sweden.
I have always enjoyed this game and learned from it as well, but it would be helpful to me if the hints were not so esoteric and more concrete/

So it is "Charles University".
Just google that with the quotes and you will find it...
