John Greenleaf Whittier? (nice middle name; i always presumed it was a nickname.

)
That's the man, Mr. Turtle. Thanks for playing, M.D. now all you have to do is name the place. I especially like his poem "In school Days", because it reminds me of my mom who taught in a one room school house. It is still there, thanks to my oldest sister.
Incidentally, the "others" who tried to help me with the art of changing my avatar(in addition to Reyn) were:
dlowan
Calamity Jane(who tried)
timberlandko(who tried)
Ragman(who resized, but it was one pixel too large)
his birthplace in Haverhill, Mass
Absolutely, M.D. Your turn.
saw this on cable recently; it's a bit too inaccessible, even for intrepid chelonians.
Love it, Mr. Carapace. I don't think even Florida female possums would like it up there where the air is rare.
Well, is that precipice in Europe?
nope; on this side of the atlantic
nope; tis in South America, and was supposedly inspiration for Conan Doyle's Lost World.
You give good hints for a whale, Yit.
The unearthly plateau in Venezuela.
actually, it seems to lie right on the Guyana/Venezuela/Brazil borders. on the cable show, they took an extremely strenuous route to get there, but i found a tour listing where you can do a roundtrip in 6 days, including one day on top of the mesa.
your turn please (although i have to stick my proboscis back into a computer book)
I'll begin early this morning as I have a busy day ahead.
Where am I?
Hint: Someone borrowed a coat from him.
You cheated, Tico.
Do you know the song American Pie by Don McLean? Well, the jester was Bob Dylan and he borrowed a coat from this man who is now a cult classic.
Strange, too, because Bob of Boston just mentioned him in one of his bio's.
Well he borrowed his coat from James Dean of course.
Sooooo, Tico. That should help you to find this memorial, buddy.
Florida calling Kansas. You there? Please don't tell me that you are in court again.
No, I'm at home. Feeling like carp today.
