Lieutenant Colonel John Alexander McCrae, MD (November 30, 1872 - January 28, 1918) was a Canadian poet, physician, author, artist and soldier during World War I. He is best known for writing the famous war memorial poem In Flanders Fields. Is this the person you are referring to Letty? If so, I have to nominate Canada?

I love that poem, Dutchy, but if you recall, there was a memorial to Anne Frank in America. This place is a remembrance of the same era in which McCrae was saying "...to you, from failing hands we throw the torch..."

(I already confirmed George's U.S. guess. Razz )

I have to run to the store, so here is a good hint:

First name of the place is the last name of a famous sonneteer who was blind.

Second name is the same state in which my furry friend (George) lives.

To the east.
And if you're in the Daytona Beach area, east by northeast.

Well, George. I can't support it, but it seems to me that when Edward VIII abdicated for "the woman he loved", that they lived in Bermuda for a while.

Ok, is the place a tourist attraction or church?

Oh, I see what you mean.
I think it was the Bahamas, though -- nor sure.

Yes, it is a church.
