Are those little soccer pods somewhere in Japan? Are they simply decoration, or are they statues?

Japan is right Letty, if you stick 'soccer ball homes' in Google and image it, you'll find them.

Paro Airport - Bhutan

Paro Airport (IATA: PBH, ICAO: VQPR) is an airport in Bhutan 6 km (3 miles) away from Paro. Paro is the only international airport in Bhutan. It is located in a steep valley.

The airport has one runway and serves a single airline, the national carrier Druk Air, which also owns the airport and has its hub there.

There is one passenger and one cargo terminal and 2 aircraft stands. There are also 4 check-in desks and one gate.
