Has anyone seen the movie, or at least the previews to the new movie "Unleashed" with Jet Li and Morgan Freeman? The first time I saw it advertise it was VERY familiar to me. I KNOW I have seen this movie before -or at least pieces of it. I have no idea if Jet Li or Morgan Freeman were in it, but I know I've seen this exact storyline of the asian man being raised by a rather sadistic man, he controls him with a collar around his neck and he's never known anything but violence. I don't remember a whole lot about the movie, that's why I think I only saw pieces of it - but I am positive I saw a movie like this. In fact, I remember the line where the sadistic man says "you're my dog" and the asian man says "not anymore."
Everyone I have mentioned this to says I'm crazy - can anyone help me on this?

I had the exact same feeling when I watched the trailer; I KNOW I've seen this before, but I can't find anywhere where it's mentioned that this is a remake. Is it possible it had a very limited release in an earlier form?
There being few original storylines for any movies, this Asian martial arts movie has obviously borrowed from what has been done before.

The plot does sound familiar...but when I went on the site it said 'wrtitten and directed by Luc Bresson'
site is FAB by the way
You might be experiencing Deja-Video. The feeling that you've seen that movie before

Deja-Video -- you are a witty thief.

Thanks AndyHat, at least I'm not alone! I actually had the thought that maybe the movie was supposed to be released at an earlier date, but something stopped it - but it seems pretty new & I can't find any info about that being the case, so I thought it was perhaps a remake because I know it was a few years ago.
I appreciate everyone's input - if anyone comes across any solid proof or any ideas how to get it - please let me know. I thought about the Luc Bresson comment, but that could just mean he wrote this particular screenplay of the story - couldn't it?

They ran trailers for it a year or two ago...
The trailers and promotion videos are a tad old, they filmed this quite a while ago, so it's very possible that you've seen the footage before.
I believe the movie had been delayed, but I haven't looked for sources to verify that or not.
