There came a girl from France
Who didn't know how to dance
The only thing that she could do
Was knees up Mother Brown

Oh, knees up Mother Brown
Knees up Mother Brown
Knees up, knees up, never let the breeze up,
Knees up Mother Brown

Oh, hopping on one foot
Hopping on one foot
Hopping, hopping, never stopping
Hopping on one foot

Oh, knees up Mother Brown
Knees up Mother Brown
Knees up, knees up, never let the breeze up,
Knees up Mother Brown

Oh, prancing up and down
Prancing up and down
Prancing, prancing, never dancing
Prancing up and down

Oh, knees up Mother Brown
Knees up Mother Brown
Knees up, knees up, never let the breeze up,
Knees up Mother Brown

And whirling round and round
Whirling round and round
Whirling, whirling, never twirling
Whirling round and round

Oh, knees up Mother Brown
Knees up Mother Brown
Knees up, knees up, never let the breeze up,
Knees up Mother Brown

Oh, knees up Mother Brown
Knees up Mother Brown
Knees up, knees up, never let the breeze up,
Knees up Mother Brown

I shouldn't have had that last gin.

Oh Set, how I smiled at the memory of; The Third South Carolina Volunteer Infantry Battalion. Who were also known as the Laurens and/or the James Battalion.

Who, on November 15, 1862, was along with the 15th SC Regiment, transferred to Kershaw's Brigade of which it would remain an integral part until the end of the war. The battalion participated in nearly all the battles of the Army of Northern Virginia, including Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville and Gettysburg.

In September 1863 it was transferred to the Western Theatre and fought at Chickamauga and Knoxville. Returning to Virginia in the spring of 1864, engagements included the Wilderness, Spottsylvania Court House, North Anna River, Second Cold Harbor, Deep Bottom and the siege of Petersburg.

Do you remember how history came alive in your hands? Whilst I struggled with the syntax of grammar, so that one day I would be able to proudly say, ?'that is a book wot I rote'

Look how you have fallen, dallying around the abutment block, or fumbling in the nether regions of a ladies foundation garments thread.

I will light a candle.

I wrap it loosely around my hand, then bunch it.

How 'bout you?
