I have learned you can waste a lot of time and that you never get it back.
I know what you mean. I've felt like this.
I'm on the fence on it a bit.
I have this thought often: "Yes, sometimes it feels like I just wasted 3 hours debating stuff, and while some of it is ultimately not very important, I did learn a few things."
Then I come around to this (sometimes): Lets say I "wasted" 3 hours. But in that 3 hours, there were 4 minutes when I read or debated something that will have somewhat of a "minorly profound" affect on my life. Something that may help me save years of wasted effort or "false" beliefs. Somehow, though it may seem I wasted 3 hours, the 4 minute breakthrough I had makes it all more than worth it in the long run.
Eh...then again I might have just wasted 3 hours!--and this is just my rationalization. I prefer to entertain this possibilty though.
