In other days, when hope was bright.

In other days, when hope was bright,
Ye spake to me of love and light,
Of endless Spring and cloudless weather,
And hearts that doted linked together !

But now ye tell another tale:
That life is brief, and beauty frail,
That joy is dead, and fondness blighted,
And hearts that doted disunited.

Away ! Ye grieve and ye rejoice
In one unfelt, unfeeling voice;
And ye, like every friend below,
Are hollow in your joy and woe:

Litera me pavit, nec quid sit litera novi;
In libris vixi, nec sum studiosior inde;
Exedi Musas, nee adhuc tamen ipse profeci.

The enigma is as capable as the epigram of being made into a beautiful little poem. There is a good example by Praed. Which, not being by any means insoluble is left to the divination of the reader. Shocked

A bell?

Rings for weddings, and funerals. Is hollow. Has one "voice."

I think first prize has to go to The Bunny. A Bell seems like the best answer to me. The Sun kinda fits in a seasonal way. Can't really see how God would fit.

Adrian and Try, are you playing tricks on me? I was at a play ground today and I saw a little boy yanking the heck out of a small tree, almost swinging from a tender branch, so I asked him to stop what he was doing.
My daughter Adrian just asked me if I had seen her notebook, then told me (5 minutes ago) that we have a moth in the living room, Shocked

Alright fess up, what do you two do all day? btw. You won't tell me will you?

"Try and I just enjoy sparring every now and again."

In my house? Shocked Laughing Try not to break anything, boy's can get rough, you don't know your own strength at times.

"Is your daughters name really Adrian?"

Yes. The reason I choose to spell her name like that is... (this might sound strange) I wanted her name to have all 'A's in it, it had to be. I could not bring myself to spell it with 'E's just because everyone else does.

Not only that, it will be a fun trick when she get's older. If someone looked at her name and was unaware of her gender, they will probably assume she is male. If I'm not mistaken, my daughter is going to be rather attractive when she is older. Picture some unsuspecting man reading her name and assuming she's male, and then meeting her for the first time. Laughing ahahahhahaha!

I'm trained to live in the moment, but I have a penchant for future tricks. <I snicker...everywhere I go!>
