Top Advisor... Top Advisor... hmm... how much power?

If he'd be up there advising us troika-types and not stowed away someplace making graphs (although he might enjoy that, who knows), looks good to me!!

(And something for our exiting prez? Minister of Interns?)

I have one confession to make.

I voted for Kickycan. So did Scrat, as he PM'd me.

We figured that the more votes he got, the easier it would be to accuse him of fraud and topple him, as we did.
Kicky's platform was a guarantee that he'd behave just like a newly appointed Latin American general. It would have been much more difficult to raise hell against any other victor.

I just want to clear this one little thing up. It wasn't my platform that made me act like a Latin American general. In fact, my plan, once I saw that I was winning, was to elect Smog as VP, and then step down and give him the Presidency as soon as this thread got going a little bit. But then when you all started that revolution crap, I couldn't do that without looking like you had pushed me into it.

Very nicely done.

Kicky I want to be president. Will you consider passing the torch to me?

It will be a throbbing good time I assure you.

If that was the big announcement you were prevented for making, it would mean that the timing of the revolution was perfect.

The troika and cabinet I propose to rule A2K instead of King Kicky, the Brief, does not include him:
D'artagnan, Sozobe and Dagmaraka on the helm;
Ticomaya as Minister of Defense
Eva as Minister of Love and Benign Neglect
msolga as Minister of External Affairs
nimh as Top Advisor (see Beauty girls, he's not exactly a cabinet member)...

I aint gonna go nowhere near this regime of yours, Squirrel, no matter how much I liked Ice Age (it was really cute).

I also gotta protest the proposed make-up of the government. Its a sell-out to the Love and Peace people, who now collectively get into power after having collectively come in bottom-row in the elections.

Where's Frank, number 3? Dlowan, shared number 4? Instead, we got the whole Love & Peace ticket: Eva, Dag, Olga and Tico, none of whom got more than 7%.

Another clear lesson of political history, folks. In revolutions, its those with the biggest mouths (in casu L&P) who tend to get into power - people's preferences got nothing to do with it.

Hell, I would now officially be considering the counter-revolution - if it weren't for thinking D'Art, Dag and Soz are all geniuses. But if I were Soz or D'Art, I'd insist on reshuffling or expanding the rest of the team before even accepting.

Whine, whine, whine....

Just as well. I don't need no steenking Advisor anyway.

Your proposal looks good to me, Scrat. Very inclusive, and you've placed everyone in quite appropriate positions. I formally accept the position of Minister of Love and Benign Neglect. In keeping with my new job title, I will forward you a sickeningly sweet acceptance letter just as soon as I get around to it.

But, one question. Where are YOU in the line-up? We can't do this without YOU!

Thanks for the kind words, nimh. While I'm not seeking a post in the post-revolutionary regime, I wouldn't shy away from my responsibilities if they are thrust upon me...

Dear Nimh:

This was not a velvet revolution.
Who supplied the troops for the seige of Kicky's palace -and his ultimate desperation/exacerbation/resignation-?

The silent plurality who voted for him?
Frank's voters? Sozobe's?

No!
It was the Læknirists, some fun-loving anarchists and the people from the Love & Peace party.

Of course they're a minority. Weren't the Bolshevik references clear?

But, unlike the Bolsheviks I am making a move towards the perceived first minority: your party.
I had to leave you out of the cabinet. The Love & Peace party has the guns (which I find quite Orwellian, BTW) and we wouldn't want bloodshed between fbaezer's Latins and dagmaraka's Slavs, would we?

You are quite right about a lesson on political history. It just came out that way. I think it's fascinating.
I may also add that another lesson is: intellectuals who argue for democratic compromise in the midst of revolution get the short side of the deal.

No sore feelings, pal. Smile as you type, as I have done during all this time.

(And BTW, those acorn shaped chocolates Eva gave me tasted too good!)

Dear Eva:

As I wrote before, I shall be Citizen Scrat.

Of course you can hail me, and ask for my leadership.
I could accept. Enjoy power. Plot with fbaezer, d'artagnan and perhaps Sozobe how to destroy your party (maybe having Tico come to our side).
Then the survivors would fight for power, the winner would take all, and it would be nightmarish.
So don't you tempt me, you temptress!

Sorry, it is the Love & Beauty party.

Does not mean you don't have the guns, though.

All hail the Fearless Squirrel!

We are all Citizens in the Revolution, dear Scrat. But only have shown the ability to lead us. Shall we call you Furry Leader? Commander Squirrel? Top Nut? (I kinda like that last one.)

It is time to lay party loyalties aside and work for the greater good of A2K. I am willing to bow to the wisdom of D'Art, Soz & Dag and serve them as Minister. I'm assuming I get a really nice ministerial residence here....someplace appropriate for Love & Benign Neglect. Where would that be? Hmmm. Anyway, now that Kickyscam and Co. have been duly dispatched, it is time for peace. I will return the missile launchers and retrieve the Love Buses. They were particularly lovely missile launchers, though, weren't they! Laughing Glad to be of help. I must go put some champagne on ice now. A party is in order, I think.

Wait, you didn't want me to be president, fabezer? That makes me sad. And Kicky, you're a good man for even thinking about me. Too bad this whole election thing isn't really fun anymore, huh?

Oh Smog, I din't even know Kicky was planning to step down. That is, if he says the truth.

All I said is that the rebellion came in time to stop him from making a move that would have confused us.

OMG! Shocked

I feel a little soiled & used by a couple of very clever puppet masters! In all truth, I was responding with complete sincerity to what I perceived to be the REAL (virtual) situation. Now I feel a little like a mouse in one of those mazes ... manipulated. Sad

Waaaaaahhh! I wanted a REAL revolution!
