That's what comes of getting the idea in my head that I am going to do some exercise. This body hasn't seen a gym in a while so why, oh why, did I think I could balance on that ball, gyrate with that hula hoop and twist my torso like a lunatic on speed, to that new new belly-dancing CD?
I need some light stretching hints so that my spine doesn't feel like it's ready to explode through my belly again. Any suggestions?
Yes, let me just mention that's all your fault. I think it was mentioned in a thread involving you and it put the idea in my head!
Too bad I may need hip replacement surgery now!
I'm sorry. Please feel free to paint a picture of my face on a heavy bag and beat the hell out of it. That should help get you in shape!
I imagine you, oh I don't know, looking all manly with a cleft chin, ciggie dangling dangerously, eyes mysteriously shadowed by the brim of your hat ... oop look, you just stepped in horsey doo-doo!
Get a ball and a racquette ball racquette and gently wop the ball against a wall, and sedately chase it down to return your own serve.
I'm serious, Heeven, assuming just stiff, sore muscles. You will ease into all sorts of movements without realizing it.
I took a trip (not literally) up the stairs in work, stretching my arms a wee bit to try to loosen up and although it still hurts I do feel moderately better.
Didn't expect to see anyone (internal staircase) and bumped into manager. I think he thought I was on crack .... groaning sounds echoing through stairwell, running attempt looking more like spastic hurling of body from one step to next, arms waving and jiggling like crazy-woman who was coming in to win first jack-ass olympics.
I win the gold!

My god, is this all the advice you people have for our friend Heeven? Come on A2K, surely you guys can do better than this!!! She needs help! I mean, just look at her!!!
hot bath, heeven. as long as you can sit in it...
i do this to myself all the time. ALL the time! never learn. the hot bath and 20 mins of painful stretching right after should do the trick. and a slight jog tomorrow - else you'll hurt even more.
Well my feathers are not quite in a flit today. I'll take your advice Dag and do the bath-thing tonite.
i'll probably do the same. went for a 40 min. run, then hopped around to music, now am meeting a colleague at the gym... (i have sort of a date tomorrow. i can surely shed 20 pounds by 2pm tomorrow, right?). gym creapt into the plan only now - but if she's going, i ain't staying behind. very dumb plan, but i'll go forth with it nonetheless. and i'm biking today - i can just imagine the commute back home from the gym - up the mother hill on my street.... ugh.
Mucho grassy-arse kicky for coming to my aid. M'girl Dag is coming over to massage my butt for me later! Right?
please take photos of the arse massage and post them here -- for educational purposes...
Bad boy RP!
Sooo Dag has a date tonight? Will we get details?
lunch, it is lunch. i am pretty sore, not as sore as i thought i would be, so i obviously need to go for a jog to look my slimmest...
Details: Dag and "date" meet at Burger King parking lot. They split 5 bottles of Mad Dog 20/20 in the car while listening to Eminem and Snoop Dogg, and the date tries to dry-hump Dag's ass as she's puking out the window.
Heeven, one good back stretcher I know(kind of hard to explain).
Sit on the floor, legs straight out in front of you. Start by taking your left foot, and placing it on the floor to the right of your right knee....now your left knee is up in the air. Twist your upper body to the left, with your left hand "pulling" your torso behind you, and your right arm "pushing" with your elbow against your left knee. Then do the opposite side.
If you can follow that, it's a good stretch. However, I'd suggest you stretch after working out(assuming you're doing it before), not before. Your limbs are like hard taffy beforehand, and you want to stretch only once you're warmed up. The point of stretching is to increase flexibility, not warm up for excercise, because it doesn't do that.
Well I don't suggest it on a first date (especially since it is a lunch date) but I found the cure to my aches and pains last night .... sex!
I highly recommend it!
i'll see what i can do, heeven! they don't make'em more gorgeous than this man, so i can't say i would put up much of a fight...
