Dancing for Dollars--How to be a 17th Century Slut

I have been playing the new Sid Meier's game for awhile now, Pirates. The game has several skill sets which it requires of you, fencing, combat at sea, treasure hunting . . . and dancing. When you pull into a port which is a major city, there will be a governor. The governor will have a daughter, who is of one of three degrees of "attractiveness": rather plain, attractive, or beautiful. They will invite to the ball, and if you wanna do the whole nine yards in this game, you will accept the invation, and go dance with them.

Successfully completing the dance will get you stuff. Successfully dance with the plain girls, and they give you bounties--you go to the port they tell you about, inquire at the tavern, and then duel with some clown who has a price on him. After you duke it out with him with swords (and if you can't take down on of those jokers, you've got no business in the game), he caves in, and you get a reward of from one to five thousand gold pieces (the entire economy in the game is based upon a gold unit of unspecified value).

Dance with the attractive girls successfully, and they give you valuable artifact items--fencing equipment such as balanced swords or fencing shirts; navigational equipment--they'll give anything except dancing shoes. Dance successfully with the beautiful women and they give you important quest information--some of those quests can yield 50,000 in gold.

I am become a slut, a dancing pirate slut in the Carribean in the 1660's. Ain't video games grand?
