She made her plea in the hopes of receiving a lighter sentence. If the plea is now rejected, she won't get the benefit of the plea bargain, assuming she is convicted. What leads you to think she's going to be let "off the hook"?

As I understand it, the judge has declared a mistrial. That doesn't mean she's off the hook. Now a new trial will probably be scheduled where a plea of not guilty will be entered for her. In the long run, this could mean that she gets TOTALLY, not just partially, screwed, blued and tattooed. This'll show that she did act on her own, was not coerced, the brass didn't know diddly about it, blah blah blah. And she spends the next 11 years in Leavenworth Barracks while the generals...

Ignorance of the law is a valid excuse? Or does some intent need to be proved here?

Anybody know the specific charges: conspiracy? deliberately disobeying orders? attempted blah blah?
