Today I will hold my head up high
While the tears fall down my face
And not turn my head away
Or bite my lip
Or roll my eyes
The way that you have taught me to

Today i shall breathe deeply
As i sob without reserve
And not muffle the sound
Or cover my mouth
Or purse my lips
As you told me I should

Today I shall say what i mean to
As my eyes see clearly at last
And not use euphimism
Or laugh at myself
Or play with my hands in the silence
As i feel i should

Today i shall not play to the crowd
I shall not blend in

Today I shall be me
