I think the first and last books of the bible is where the most hisotorical inaccuracies or misinterpretations are found so im gonna have to disagree with you. I would point someone to reading one of the apostles books instead. The old testament makes God a wrathful and almost evil god in my opinion. One thing that has always bothered me in religion was the great flood. God killing thousands of innocent people because in the bible it says society was corrupt. But how corrupt could a 2 year old child be?
