About how long would a closing statement be for a defense attorney (I realize the vast range of closing statements which have many different lengths. This is more of an "How long would you make it" kind of query)?
I: Recitation of State's Evidence
II: Refutation of Same
III: Plea to Jury for Justice
Time? As long as it takes and not a second longer than the jury can stand.

In the case of Leopold and Loeb, Clarence Darrow's summation lasted twelve hours. The jury must have had the patience of saints.
Seems it worked though the two child killers were spared the death penalty.
